I'd like to thank the Academy for taking 3 1/2 hrs of prime time television and wasting it with self congratulatory nonsense aimed at convincing America that the practice of playing make believe is something that could change the world and should be cared deeply about.
Nothing changes the world except rich white people.
If only the viewing audience showed as much interest in public schools, the environment, national health care, energy policy, and global trade practices as they do about who won best supporting actor (George Clooney) the world might be a better place.
Then again I'm just bitter. I really want to win an Oscar.
